Got a phone call pretending to be from card services about fake charges. Definitely don’t respond to these!

Had a bloke ring me, sounded like he was from India, called himself Max (yeah right), claiming he wanted to boost my BT broadband speed. I didn’t even mention I don’t have BT, just told him to jog on. Then, not long after, I got an SMS on my phone, supposedly from BT: “Hello, BT here. Your PIN is (XXXX). It’s only valid for one use.” Looks like they were trying to convince me by saying “See, here’s a code we just sent you to prove we’re legit.” If I’d been half asleep, I might’ve believed it. Clever try, but no thanks.
