I got a call claiming to be from HM Revenue & Customs saying there was some kind of tax fraud investigation involving me, and that I was part of a criminal case. When they asked for my name, I just told them “Ivor Biggun.” Surprisingly, they said they found my info and asked if I was employed or self-employed. I replied that I’m self-employed, and then they told me there’s a court case going on and to avoid jail I’d have to pay money to the court. I casually mentioned I’m a lawyer, and the call was cut off straight away. Be cautious with this number!
