Well, I got a call saying I just won £500 worth of shopping! They told me I needed to claim it by Friday 7th Feb or it would expire. The message had a weird code like [#][#]/ARGOS-12Set0W2 or something. Sounds a bit dodgy if you ask me!

I got a text this morning from 07541172594 saying I’d won £500 from Argos, with a link and everything. The message said the prize was only good until Fri 24th Jan. I had a quick look on ‘Who Called Me’ after googling ‘Argos £500 gift text scam’ and found a bunch of similar numbers linked to dodgy messages. This particular number hasn’t come up before here, but there are loads of reports about another number doing the same thing. If it was legit, surely Argos would contact you properly by phone or email, so I’m ignoring it and assuming it’s a scam.
