Got a message from this number saying they were my bank and I needed to get back to them straight away about a suspicious transaction. I didn’t buy it, so I blocked the number. My bank would never text me from a random mobile number, plus if there was any suspicious activity, they’d give me a ring first.

Just got a text claiming to be from my bank, saying there’s an issue with a payment of £221.04 to someone called John Lewes. They wanted me to respond straight away. I blocked the number straight away because my bank never texts me from strange numbers - they always ring if there’s anything dodgy happening. Sounds like a classic scam to me.
