I received a call today from a woman named "Lorna" regarding a problem with my Achilles tendon. Similar to what others have posted, she inquired about my gender and suggested online physiotherapy sessions. She presented various payment methods and mentioned she was on ESA. Something felt off, so I decided to look up the number and came across these other comments. I've since blocked her number.

I've experienced something quite akin to what others have shared on this site. She requested to speak with a counsellor yet refused to engage due to her apparent shyness. After inquiring about the fee, things took a turn as she became aggressive and even threatened to bring my supervisor and the organisation into the mix. I've had enough-she's now blocked!

It seems 'Lorna' has been requesting physiotherapy multiple times. At first, I was given a selection of appointment times, but she turned them down, preferring virtual consultations and expressing discomfort with seeing female therapists? I'm relieved I decided to look into this today-now she's blocked!

I received a couple of texts from someone named 'Lorna' inquiring about knee physiotherapy. It's a bit puzzling how she ended up with my mobile, especially since the clinic's contact number is prominently displayed as a main line on the website. Thankfully, I thought to look up the number online beforehand.

Just reiterating my earlier point! I’m really glad I took the time to verify that number before getting back to them.

Initially, I received an email from this individual, to which I responded, yet there was no reply. Fast forward a month or two, and I got the very same email again. This time, they did respond to my reply, citing their shyness as a reason for the delay. But once more, they fell silent afterwards. Now, out of the blue, I’ve received a text that is identical in wording to those previous emails-it's as if it’s been copy and pasted! I responded to the text initially, but after doing a bit of research on this number, I opted to block it following a glance at what others had to say. (Interestingly, their message included the line ‘I've got other things going on as well’.)

Reaching out for counselling feels a bit surreal to me. The person on the other end wasn't really open to any suggestions and came across as rather insistent. I've ended up blocking the number.

As several others have mentioned, the name I was given was Laura. There’s something about it that doesn’t quite sit right with me. To my mind, it seems as though there’s an element of pretending to be anxious and withdrawn, almost as if it’s a ruse to score some free social interaction. When I suggested sharing the contact details of some female therapists, the reply was, “I can’t speak with women counsellors,” yet she seemed to dodge making an actual appointment with me. It’s rather intriguing how her calls have been so varied, reaching out to different therapists and counsellors all over the UK!

I posted a comment earlier, and shortly afterwards, I jumped onto my laptop only to find evidence of a hacking attempt on my Mac, which is connected to my phone through Bluetooth. It appears to be a potential avenue for compromising computers. I highly recommend ensuring you have robust antivirus protection and a reliable VPN in place, and definitely block any calls from that number on your mobile. Be wary of any prompts your computer might throw up-especially when it tries to get permission for another device to 'access netbios' after you've had a brush with this individual or group. Ignoring these red flags could lead to significant troubles and hefty costs!

I've been receiving messages from someone seeking assistance, claiming they need counselling. However, their replies are rather vague and they're dodging even the most straightforward questions. Their responses are consistently curt and unwelcoming. Honestly, I can't shake the feeling that this might not be entirely sincere.

I’ve recently encountered a similar issue, and it’s rather perplexing! Initially, I received some text messages inquiring if I could assist as a counsellor. We exchanged texts where I presented various options, but curiously, they only responded with “no one cares, so what’s the point.” After doing a little digging online, it seems this number might be linked to some sort of scam or phishing attempt. The odd thing is, it looks like a regular mobile number, so I’m puzzled as to how they would benefit financially from replying to messages. If it’s indeed phishing-related, I can’t quite grasp what exactly they’re attempting to sell or how they’d go about extorting money. Quite the odd situation, really! Being fairly new to the counselling field, this experience was quite unanticipated. I'm relieved I took the time to look up the number, as it was reassuring to discover that others have had a similar experience with it, suggesting it’s likely a fraudulent contact.

I’ve received messages from this number as well, requesting assistance with psychological support. They seem rather reluctant to engage via phone or email, providing only brief, terse replies. My gut feeling is that this could very well be a scam.

Did the individual happen to share their first name? I'm also receiving some rather strange messages concerning a counselling matter.

This evening, I've been receiving messages from this number regarding telephone counselling, which I find rather odd, to be honest.

I've also had a run-in with that number. I can't quite put my finger on whether it's a scammer attempting to deceive or perhaps just someone grappling with a bit of social unease.

I’m a bit sceptical, to be honest. It feels rather dodgy to me. They’re claiming to seek a therapist, yet seem intent on communicating solely via phone calls and have no interest in video chats. Plus, they avoid sharing their last name or any address details. Quite fishy, if you ask me!
