Caller said he was from an Amazon call centre, and that I'd paid out £700+ for an iPhone 15 and wanted me to check if it was legit. I checked my Amazon account, and no order had been placed by me for over 18 months. I checked my bank account and there was no order. He wanted me to cancel the order. I asked why I should cancel an order I had not made. He said it was the law. I asked him which law that was. He said it was Law 4 2 0 - then rang off. Conclusion - a scammer.

Got a call from someone claiming to be at an Amazon call centre, saying I’d apparently bought an iPhone 15 for over £700 and needed to confirm if it was legit. I had a look at my Amazon account, no sign of any orders in a year and a half. Same with my bank statement - nothing there either. This bloke kept telling me I had to cancel the supposed order. When I asked why I should cancel something I never made, he said it was the law. I asked which law exactly, and he just muttered “law 4 2 0” and then hung up on me. Pretty obvious this was a scam.
