Got a text claiming I had a Halifax account opened in my name, which is totally not true. They were asking me to click a link to "verify" my details or whatever. Pretty sure it's a scam, cause I don't even have a account with them.

I got a text saying that someone called Kay Brown had been added as a payee to my bank account. Thing is, that account’s been closed and untouched for well over 12 years. I didn’t bother clicking on any links and just deleted the message straight away. Out of curiosity, I looked up the sender’s number and landed on this website, which is why I’m sharing my experience. Seems like a risky scam if you ask me.

Got a text saying I need to add a new payee to my Halifax account, but I don’t actually have an account with them. The link they sent looked really dodgy and flagged up as unsafe. Definitely feels like a scam to me.
