On the 18th of October, 2020, I got a message from this number claiming to be the DVLA saying I was owed a refund on my vehicle tax.

Got a text from someone claiming to be the DVLA saying I could get a tax refund. Sounded dodgy to me, so I didn’t click any links or reply. Seems like a total scam - just trying to trick folks into giving personal info. Watch out for these fake messages!

I got a call from what said Halifax on my screen but the number was blocked. They never asked for my address or anything, just sounded a bit off. I tried looking up the number but nothing clear showed up. Anyone else had something like this happen? Bit strange if you ask me.

Got a call about a car tax refund, but I don't even own a car! Definitely a scam trying to trick people.

Got a couple of dodgy texts claiming to be from Halifax saying a new device was linked to my account. The message told me to click a sketchy link if it wasn’t me. Luckily, I know Halifax’s official guidelines and this is nothing like the genuine messages they send. I’ve seen 3 of these now, all worded almost the same, which feels a bit fishy. Definitely a phishing scam trying to trick people - best just delete them and not click any links!
