On 27/04/2021 I got this message but chose not to reply. Instead, I rang up my bank, RBS, and they confirmed it was a legit attempt to verify expenses on my account.

My wife got a couple of messages, one said it was from RBS but it was total rubbish! The other told her to ring this same number. Definitely a scam, watch out everyone!

Not sure who this was meant for, but they mentioned all sorts of fake transactions, like ones on eBay and Marketplace, saying some were approved and others declined. They asked me to reply with a 'y' or 'n'. Feels like a classic trick to collect numbers from gullible folks.
