on my android phone, when i was checking the settings i saw that google uses your mobile number for security verification. it’s kinda handy to keep ur account safe, but make sure ur number is correct in there. helps with stuff like 2-step verification and password recovery too.

Strange thing is, they keep texting me from numbers that are almost the same but the last two digits keep changing. Every message says the same thing about some google re-verification. Quite odd really.
