Seems like they were trying to get me to click on some dodgy link, pretty sure it was spam.

This isn't some kind of scam. It's just Android automatically sending a text to register your SIM for RCS when you're connected to WIFI. It usually happens if you've switched your number to a new SIM card or started using a different phone. It's all part of how the Android system works. You'll only get one message for this, and when you turned on RCS in the Google messages app, it would have given you a heads-up. Surely you didn't just ignore that warning, right? 😂

My EE bill shows a charge listed like this - "Text Message to Mobile 26 Jan 25 16:59 07537452513 - - £0.20". Thing is, I never sent any text to that number. Plus, there's nothing in my phone’s sent messages to back this up.

So I’ve been switching sims on my phone recently and noticed this number popping up every single time. I looked it up on another site and they said it’s nothing to worry about - apparently it’s Google checking the number to connect my accounts properly. Makes sense cause I got alerts for all 8 accounts I have. Only downside was it cost me 22p, which is a bit annoying.

I noticed this number on my phone bill saying a message was sent from my number, but I have never sent anything. Seems really dodgy to me.

Apparently 15p vanished from my credit, thought it was because of a text sent to this number. Thing is, I never saw any sign of a text going out or coming in on my phone, and to add to that, I was at work when they say the text was sent. Very strange!

I noticed a message was sent from my account to this number around 00:44 on 22/10/2022, but it never showed up on my phone. Oddly enough, the cost was taken from my PAYG credit. I suspect it might have been some kind of verification scam and definitely not from Google. I went on and double-checked with EE PAYG at 11:00 the same day to be sure.

Got a message from +447537452513 claiming Google needed to check my phone again and asking me to tap on a link. Felt dodgy so I just ignored and deleted it straight away. Definitely looked like a scam.

I don’t know why, but this number appears on my 1P mobile account as if I’ve texted them. The weird thing is, I didn’t send any message to this number at all, yet 1P mobile still billed me for it!

At like 4:45 in the morning, Google tried to re-check my phone and then popped up a link. I wasn’t sure about it at all, so I just ignored it. Feels like a total scam to me!
