I've received my second call of this sort within a week now. I almost fell for the ruse last time, but fortunately, my bank tipped me off to the scam. They masked themselves as my daughter, claiming her phone was on the blink. I told them I believe they've dialled the wrong person and promptly blocked their number.

I received a rather suspicious text from someone posing as my son. The message claimed, "Hi Mum, my phone's knackered, and I've got a new one." He went on about how he was missing various files and needed to sort some bills. He assured me he’d reimburse me in a couple of days once everything was sorted, but he requested a hefty sum of £1219 upfront. He even provided bank details with the name Siva S Chigurupati, account number 22241537, sort code 236972, and a reference code of G7GA861. Just a heads up: keep your wits about you regarding this fraudster!
