I got a call from Ebay asking me to verify my login. It sounded pretty legit since it was a security step to keep your account safe. They told me to press a certain number if I was expecting the call, then once I did, they provided this 6 digit code to punch into their login screen. Seems like a normal safety check to me.

I got a call pretty quickly after I asked for a verification code from eBay, so it seemed legit enough. But I'd watch out if you didn't actually ask for one yourself, cos from what I've read, scammers have been using this trick too. So yeah, be careful and don't just trust it blindly.

If you haven’t had any trouble logging in before, it might be that someone’s attempting to access your account by using the “forgot password” feature, and the call is to give you a code. Just be sensible about it and handle it carefully. This isn’t some dodgy scam or call centre trying to pull a trick.
