Got a WhatsApp message from this number claiming to be my son, asking me to send £840 quickly to pay off some debt. It really shook my folks up and they almost got caught out by that terrible scam. Such a nasty trick to pull!

I'm really happy I looked up this number before replying. I got a message on WhatsApp saying something like, "Hi mum, my phone's broken, please delete my old number and save this one." Felt a bit off, so I just blocked it straight away. Seems like a few others have had the same weird message. Just a heads up to everyone to be careful out there!

I got a message on Whatsapp from this number pretending to be my daughter. I was nearly fooled into sending money, which I usually would, but I refused till I had a proper talk with her. Obviously, that conversation never happened.

Got a call from someone claiming to be family, but they never said who it was and wanted me to add their number. Pretty sure it was a scam. Just blocked and deleted it straight away.

I got a message from 07537129401 where someone was pretending to be a son or daughter, saying: "Hey mum, I've broken my phone and this is my new number, please delete the old one." My mum replied asking if it really was me and they said yes, then started chatting with her. I reckon if she’d kept going, they’d probably have tried to scam her out of some cash.

Somebody called me sayin I owed 987 in taxes and said if I didn't pay up in the next hour the police would be after me. They asked for iTunes vouchers and sounded really aggressive. Proper scary stuff.

A woman rang me earlier, trying to get me to verify my info. I wasn’t having any of it since she was the one who dialled and ought to know who’s on the line. She was going on about some legal claim against me, but I just laughed it off. Then she threatened the police might show up if I didn’t cooperate. Told her it sounded like a con, and she just chuckled, begged me to cut her some slack, and hung up on me.

I received a rather alarming call that claimed to be from HMRC, threatening me with legal action for tax evasion, money laundering, and other serious offences. The call was riddled with a cacophony of noise in the background, which only added to my annoyance. I firmly instructed the rather foreign-sounding chap to provide me with further information and then promptly ended the call. It’s undoubtedly a scam, but I must say, it’s quite unsettling to receive such a message!
