I got a call from 07537 173844 earlier today. When I picked up, there was silence at first, then suddenly a recorded voice said “goodbye” and the call just ended out of nowhere. Pretty odd behaviour if you ask me!

Got a call from the number ‭07537146984‬ claiming to be HMS Inland Revenue with a robotic voice saying there was a warrant for my arrest. They asked me to press one to confirm my info. I just hung up straight away and blocked them. Total scam if you ask me.

At about 12:23 pm on June 18, 2020, a bloke with an Indian accent called me claiming to be from HMRC. He actually said my name, which I acknowledged. After that, he tried confirming my address and surprisingly got that spot on as well. I kept quiet for like ten seconds, then he checked if I was still there. That’s when I decided to just hang up.

I kept getting calls from this bloke who just kept saying “hello” over and over, like he was listening through the phone or something. I finally said, “yeah, I can hear you, what’s the matter?” and then he just hung up. Same weird voice has been ringing from 01270 904832 as well.

At around 8.49 this morning, I got a call from a man who sounded like he was Nigerian. He asked if he was speaking to "Mrs..." but I couldn’t catch the last name properly - something like Ware, Clare, or Mare, I think. I told him he’d rung the wrong number. Then he asked me what my name was. I just said it didn’t matter as the person he was after obviously wasn’t there. He didn’t say anything after that but stayed on the line, so I ended the call myself.

Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC, and they actually knew my name. The problem was, I could hardly understand him because of his thick accent - totally sounded like it was from some call centre in India. Then, without much warning, he just ended the call. I’ve blocked the number now!

Today, around 8.30 in the morning, I got a call from someone claiming to be from the HMRC. They said I owed £1700 in taxes and threatened to arrest me, cancel my passport and driving licence, and freeze my bank accounts. They even mentioned my bank would contact me next. I just told them to sort it out in court if they had a problem. When they asked if I had any questions, I didn’t say anything. Since then, nobody’s rang me back. This happened on 16/06/2020.

This number rang me up saying I owed some money that had to be paid straight away. Since I knew I didn’t owe anything, I just told them they were trying to scam people and to get lost. Then they just hung up on me.

Got a call from someone saying he was James from HMRC, but his accent was really thick. I asked where in HMRC he was based, and he seemed a bit flustered. Then I asked what department he worked for - he said something like Investigation and Audit. I then asked which country he was calling from, and he told me London. After that, I lost interest and just hung up.

I got a call claiming I owed HMRC money from way back in 2002. I flipped it around and told the caller actually HMRC owed me cash, and I was eager to find out when I’d be paid. The guy just stuck to his script, kept threatening to report me to the police. I asked him which police station exactly, and he said it was my choice! Seemed to baffle him a bit, and in the end, he just hung up on me. Quite the weird phone call!
