Got a call from a bloke claiming to be from Currys PC World, trying to tell me he could cut down my phone bill. He asked if I was with EE, I said nope, then he started asking me loads of stuff and just ended up hanging up on me. Pretty clear that was a scam.

Some bloke rang saying he was calling from Curry’s PC World. I caught on pretty quick, told him no thanks, and ended the call. The number matched one of those on your list that’s supposed to be pretending to be Curry’s.

Got a call from a place with PC World at the end of the name, but I missed the first word. Seemed dodgy straight away. As soon as I asked who they were and what was on offer, they hung up. Definitely felt like a scam.

A person rang me claiming to be Daniel from Curry’s PC World, said I’d visited there lately for help so I let them go on. After that, they mentioned wanting to discuss EE, which is strange because I’m not with them. I told them I wasn’t happy talking about my phone provider on the phone and they just cut off before I could say anything else. Luckily, I didn’t get the rude behaviour others have described.

I’m always suspicious when I see a number I don’t know, and luckily this time was no different! I didn’t answer and then used this great site to look it up - turns out I was right to be cautious. I wouldn’t recommend picking up if you get a call from this number.

Today I noticed I’d missed a call from this number, I get loads of spam calls so I reckon it was probably someone like Currys trying to sell me something.

Got a call from some bloke saying he was from Currys PC World. He asked if I was a Vodafone customer, and I immediately got the vibe it was a dodgy call, so I just ended it and blocked the number straight away. The guy sounded like he had an Indian accent, which made me even more suspicious.

This was clearly a con claiming to be from Currys. I messaged back for a bit to the bloke on the line from India, but he ended the call once he figured out I was asking the questions instead of just listening. Similar to another poster, I’d actually bought a phone from Currys just yesterday and made sure they wouldn’t send me any promotional stuff. Now I’m a bit concerned that some dodgy person might have got wind of my purchase.

After seeing all the bad reviews, I'm actually glad I didn't answer that call. Earlier this year, I got caught out by a scam like this where they nearly got access to my bank details. Honestly, I've lost trust in pretty much everyone now.

I received a call from a chap purporting to be from Currys PC World, inquiring about which mobile network I utilise. He was rather hard to decipher, so I decided to end the conversation.

They kicked off by claiming to be from Currys or PC World, then switched to saying I was a Vodafone customer... totally off the mark. I replied, “Odd that you seem to know more about my mobile deal than even my own name,” and just like that, the call dropped!

The person on the line claimed to be from EE, but after I told them no, they began yelling at me.

Had a similar call like others here, a woman speaking with an Indian accent said she was from Currys PC World. She assumed I still had a Vodafone contract, which I haven’t had for ages. Once I told her I wasn’t interested in talking about mobile contracts, she just ended the call. It wasn’t pushy or threatening, but definitely seems like a scam to me. I reckon they’re trying to fish for bank info under the guise of renewing some contract.

Caller claimed he was ringing from Currys. When I said I wasn't up for the offer, he just told me to get lost in a really rude way.

I didn’t recognise the number so I just let it ring out. Funny thing is, I actually made an order from Currys online earlier today. They didn’t leave any voicemails or send any texts either.

Got a phone call on Sunday arvo from some bloke whose English was all over the place, couldn't for the life of me figure out what he wanted to pitch. Seemed like he was fishing for info but I wasn't having any of it, ended the call pretty sharpish.

I received a call from a number I didn’t recognise, so I decided not to pick up. Curiously, I did make an online purchase from Curry's earlier today. Strangely, they didn’t leave any voicemail or text after the call.

I answered with hello a couple of times, probably a bad call. Got distracted and usually wait for the other person to start talking. Just silence and some weird noises in the background. No message left. Number was blocked.

They just said “hello” a couple of times, with quite a pause in between. I could hear a really loud voice in the background, like someone was chatting. Heard from others that this might be one of those numbers that drain your credit. Going to block them now so they don’t call back.
