For weeks now, I've been getting nonstop calls at all hours - day, night, even weekends - from various numbers. The person on the line says they’re adjusting my Council Tax band and promises I’ll get money back. Sometimes they pretend to be from the bank, other times they say they’re with HMRC. They asked for my bank info to send the "refund," but their thick European accent made it hard to follow. I caught on it was a con when I told them to send the details through the post instead.
