It came across like one of those Indian call centre calls. They mentioned some accident I supposedly had. I just said, "Really, did I?" Then suddenly he began to sing what I think was some Indian love song. I switched to speaker so everyone around could listen. After a bit of what I guess was a verse, he just ended the call.

No name or firm mentioned. Spoke with an Asian accent, acted all chummy like he was a mate or something. Drives me mad that. The standard nonsense about me being involved in an accident. I calmly said I’ve never had one, then the cheeky bloke started swearing at me! Luckily no kids around, so I gave it right back to him! Absolutely loathe these sorts.

This number called me loads of times. One time I played along and said, "yeah, I had an accident." The bloke sounded proper keen and after a bit of back and forth about when and where, he wanted to know what actually happened. I said I’d spilled ketchup all over my jumper while munching a hot dog at the cinema watching Paddington. Then he asked if I was after compensation, and I said a free popcorn would do nicely. After that, he just hung up. No calls from them since!

Some bloke said the Motor Insurence Bureau had given him my number and told him I’d been in a crash. He said I wanted to make a SARs request, but then said he’d need my car reg and when the accident happened to sort it out. A SARs request is basically asking a company to give all the info they have on you. Then he just cut me off haha.

Getting hassled by Asians, unfortunately, is nothing new to me. Some of them can even follow you about if they’re keen on causing more trouble. Best not to mention it to the cops though, since they might turn it around and accuse you of being racist, especially if you stay in an area with neighbours from different backgrounds, Asians most of all.

I got really annoyed with their constant ringing, so when they called for the 10th time that day, I picked up and acted like I was from an Accident Claims company. I just repeated all his questions back to him, and he started yelling that HE was the accident claims service. I told him he was the one who called ME, and that WE were the accident claims company, so actually I could help HIM with his claim. He got all confused and ended up hanging up. Since then, they haven’t bothered me again. I’m probably on their list as another claims firm or maybe a total loon. Either way, no more calls!
