Got a text saying I’d signed up a Samsung S20 through Lloyds Bank, which seemed off to me. I recently got a Samsung handset from Sky Mobile, but it wasn’t an S20. Plus, I don’t even use Lloyds for my banking, so that raised red flags straight away. I reckon it could be linked to Sky, maybe something with Google Pay since I’d just updated my bank info there, or possibly someone digging through Ebay records because I’d just bought some phone cables for my new Samsung. Got a message this morning from 07534834717 saying I’d supposedly added a new Samsung phone to my Lloyd’s bank account. Thing is, I don’t even have an account with them, nor do I own a Samsung! The message urged me to click a link if I didn’t recognise it - obviously, I didn’t fall for it and didn’t click a thing. Looks like a typical scam to me. I’ve just blocked the number and deleted the text. Might be a good idea to report it to the police or whichever organisation deals with this rubbish.
