After me asking loads of times, I worked out they were actually some kind of brokers, if that's even true. They said they wanted to sort out my life insurance, but when I asked if they were really with L&G, the person just said "We might be able to keep you with Legal & General if it’s the best option for you". I told them I wasn’t interested, but they'd already phoned me about 3 or 4 times before that. Even after I told them to stop contacting me, they’ve rung again.
