Got a call claiming there was some weird activity on my Amazon account, like someone trying to spend over £1000 on my card. The person told me to press 1 or 2 to sort it out. Earlier today, I got the exact same ring from 01358 588351, which turned out to be a landline in Ellon, Aberdeenshire. Definitely a scam. I just hung up, had a quick look at my Amazon and bank accounts - everything’s fine. Then I blocked those numbers straight away.

Even though I’m registered with the TPS, I still get calls from this number. Makes me wonder if the TPS really does anything. Whenever they ring, my Call Guardian kicks in and tells them I’m protected, but instead of stopping, the caller just ends the call. They don’t seem to get the message that they’re blocked.

It’s a total SCAM, designed by fraudsters trying to steal your personal info so they can either copy your identity or get into your bank accounts. If you ever receive a message like this, just end the call immediately, block the number on your phone, and report it to https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/. Legit companies will never ring you asking for that kind of info.
