An Asian man rang me on this number on 1st July and also called another mobile of mine on 30th June claiming to be from the Citizens Advice Bureau about some "unpaid debts". I told him straight away I don’t owe anything and mentioned I'd read all the reviews about his mobile number, making it clear I knew it was a scam. He replied, "If it was a scam, I'd be asking you for money." I told him I’d already checked with the CAB and then he just hung up. How do these folks get away with doing this?!

This number called me about some debt I wasn't aware of. It was a woman with an Indian accent, so I just played along and said I’d pay £500. This bloke called up asking for (my name), so I asked who it was. He said CAB and then asked how I was doing. I asked what it was about and he said something about an unpaid debt case. I was a bit confused and asked which case. He then asked if I had any credit cards, store cards, or phone bill debts. I said no to all of those, and he said alright then, must be a mix-up. I told him to remove me from their calls after that.

Got a call from some guy, I think Indian, who totally butchered my name right off the bat. He said he was from CAB and claimed I was handling my monthly debts fine, according to what he saw (!) I told him to send something in writing since I don't even owe anything. He got a bit grumpy when I challenged him. Knew it was dodgy but still really frustrating!

When I asked where she got my number from, she claimed the bank had passed it on to some government credit agency. Odd thing is, she used an English name that’s not even mine - I’m Chinese and that name isn’t on any of my official docs. Definitely sounds like a scam to me!

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be Erik/Eric, saying he was a "caseworker from Citizens Advice Bureau" about a supposed issue with my credit score - then asking if that was right!! I asked which CAB he was from, he said Manchester. I actually work at a Citizens Advice Bureau - this guy is NOT legit. I’m going to report him to the national Citizens Advice and also give Manchester a heads up. Please don’t share any details with him - we never cold call like that. Definitely a scammer pretending to be CAB.

Got a call from 07532 456995 today around 6:20pm, didn't pick up since I didn't know who it was. After seeing all the comments here, I'm well glad I didn’t. Just blocked the number! Seriously, is there no way to put an end to these idiots? It’s clearly just harassment.

Luckily, I use a BT Call Guardian which stops calls from numbers not stored in my contacts. When I get a call from an unknown number, the caller has to say their name and I can choose to either accept, block, or send them straight to voicemail. With this particular unknown caller, I reckon my phone setup put them off trying to chat with me. Their number appeared on my screen and I had the choice to ‘always block number’. After seeing what others said about this number, I’ve definitely BLOCKED it now.
