I got a call from someone claiming to be with the British Finance Department, saying they wanted to talk about a PPI payout connected to one of their affiliated firms. When I asked them to explain who the British Finance Department actually are, they just ended the call straight away.

I got a call from 07531 567701, and the bloke said his name was Sam, claiming he worked for some accident firm. I told him I hadn’t been in any accident and asked him nicely to stop calling me. After that, he just hung up on me.

At about 10:38 on 13/10/20, I got a call on my mobile that Samsung flagged as 'possible scam'. Normally, with unknown numbers, I don't say my name straight away. They hang around, expecting you to reveal it first. I usually fire back with questions like, "So, do you know my name?" or "Can you tell me where in the UK I’m from?" I also ask, "Is this a cold call?" and "You haven't got a clue who I am, right?" More often than not, they just end up hanging up pretty quickly after that.

Just like what others have said, no one actually answered. I'm guessing it might be one of those automated calls checking if someone's in, then a call centre rings you up to try and sell stuff once they know you're home!
