This number rang me up claiming they were from HMRC and said my National Insurance number was about to be blocked and my bank account frozen because of some fraud. I reckon the next step would have been for them to ask me to press buttons and sort out a payment straight away, but I just ended the call - didn’t want any chance of my phone getting hacked (if it wasn’t already!). It’s the second time they’ve called me in a few weeks.
