Just received a dodgy text purporting to be about COVID contact tracing, advising me to order a PCR test kit. The message read: “You’ve been in close contact with someone who’s recently had to isolate. Please order a test kit: https://pcr-home-test-kit (dot) com.” I won’t be clicking on that link - it’s likely a scam meant to sell fake test kits or worse, a total con to extract money from people. I strongly recommend avoiding it like the plague! It’s baffling how they operate with a UK mobile number, alongside a website that apparently processes payments through UK banks, yet it remains untraceable. This kind of fraud feels like it should be a thing of the past!

I received a text requesting that I authorise a payment using a different number and suggesting I make a call to verify the details. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!
