Received a text from a number I didn’t recognise. The message claimed to be from my daughter, saying she’d switched her phone plan and this was her new contact. Something didn’t feel right though, it wasn’t how she normally texts and she didn’t sign off with her name. I messaged back to check and she rang me straight away on my home phone to warn it was a scam and told me to block and delete the number.

07522121809 claiming to be from Home Triage. They say they’re ringin about issues with mould and damp from wall insulation. Offering a free home check and possible upgrade of ECB Certificate if problem found - sounds like a win/win they say. Mentioned the council got embarassed about their previous approval stuff. Also said solicitors would get in touch about ongoing claims. As soon as I said I’d check their website, caller just cut off straight away.

They claimed to be from Home Triage and somehow knew my name, though it was actually my maiden name they used. Then they asked if I owned a certain property which I’ve never heard of and never lived in. I told them that I’d never had anything to do with that place, and then they just said "Alright, sorry, goodbye" and ended the call.

I asked him what property triage even was, and he told me he wasn’t trying to sell me anything, which made me chuckle. Then I told him I don’t live there anymore, which is true. After that, he said he’d fix his records and just hung up.
