I found a listing on Gumtree for a Ford Fiesta and decided to contact the seller. They asked me to put down a £250 deposit, which I did, but turns out it was all a con and the car wasn’t real at all. Lost my money to that scam.

We handed over a hundred quid for a van this bloke was flogging at £1,200. Van didn’t show up at all. Got the bank’s fraud team involved and managed to get our cash back. He’s gone and blocked my husband’s phone too. The guy’s called Shayne Devaney, if you see him, steer clear - total con artist!
