I had a call quite like the one described earlier. I put in my name and number but chose not to proceed any further. Soon after, a bloke called Nicholas, who spoke with an Indian accent, rang me asking why I hadn’t finished the process. He then mentioned they’d have to check my financial situation before accepting me, suggesting I might not be right for them - sounded dodgy from the start. I’m just going to wipe the ‘account’ I sort of started.

I fell for a fake story that looked like it came from the BBC. It was supposed to be some argument between Laura Kreusburg and Rachel Reeves about a company using AI. But really, it was just a front for a trading website. As soon as I gave them my phone number, a guy with an Indian accent rang me up asking when I was planning to start investing. When I said maybe in a few months, he just hung up on me.
