Saw the number pop up on my phone. Figured it was a callback, so I picked up. It was some bloke from abroad on the line. Honestly couldn’t make out much of what he was trying to say, so I ended the call. Now I’ve blocked the number.

Got a call from an unfamiliar number on my phone. The person seemed to know I’m with Vodafone and immediately launched into a dodgy pitch, saying something like, “We’ve got a special deal for Vodafone customers, fancy hearing about it?” I said yes, then they asked, “How much do you currently pay?” I told them to just send the details by email or through the Vodafone app if they really had an offer. Then I hung up. Definitely one of those phishing calls!

If a number isn’t in my contacts, it goes straight to voicemail without even ringing. This one was exactly like that. After seeing someone else mention they just hang up, I reckon it’s a call centre with auto-dialling. So yeah, I’ve gone ahead and blocked it now.
