I received a phone call concerning some maintenance work on my property. The individual on the line asserted that they were affiliated with the local council's repairs division or something similar.

I got a call from +44 7520 658302 and after saying “hello” three times, I just hung up. There were loads of people talking in the background. Pretty sure it’s a scam.

My lad picked up the phone but no one spoke, so he passed it over to me and still nothing. I ended the call and rang back, only to get a voice sounding like it was from some call centre. The bloke said his name was Will and that he was from the council, but he didn’t specify which one, saying they were checking with tenants about any repairs needed. He asked if there were any leaks or damage at the property. I told him no, thanks, and said goodbye before hanging up. I've blocked the number now. Feels a bit dodgy and could easily trick vulnerable folks into giving away info over the phone!
