A couple of months back, the SCAMMER PAYBACK group over in the States caught onto it after it tried ripping off an elderly bloke in Bristol - like £25,000! Then it hit a woman in Devon too, faking being PayPal support and nearly took £15,000 from her. Just last week, it popped up again near my area, pretending to be from the TV Licensing folks, trying to scam a single mum out of £10,000.
