I received a call right after someone attempted to gain remote access to my computer. It took me back to the hassle I had with my printer driver previously. I can't shake the feeling that these folks might be linked to that issue from the start. The call was from a lady who had an Asian accent.

Got a call from 07520 607828 while I was trying to update my printer drivers. The voice was a woman, with an accent that sounded Asian, and she seemed to already know I was struggling and wanted to lend a hand. She suggested taking over remotely to sort it out for me, but I said no thanks. Even so, she gave some decent tips and I managed to fix the problem myself. Tried ringing her back to say cheers but the number was off. Pretty clear it was a scam aiming to get into my computer. Scarily convincing because she even named my exact printer brand and model.

I was looking for printer drivers and thought I was on the Canon website. Then this bloke, talking with an Indian accent, convinced me to install some program called *ULTRAVIEWER* so he could access my computer and put the drivers on himself. It didn’t feel right though, and when another call came through on my landline, I told them I suspected it was a scam. As soon as I said that, the call just cut off.
