I got a call saying that two cheques, one for £1000 and another for £3000, were cashed through Amazon, but apparently the bank was verifying if this was legit since I'd never dealt with this company before. Seemed complete rubbish because neither me nor anyone in my family had anything to do with it. Funny thing was, they never mentioned any names or gave exact account details. From what I’ve heard, this scam has been floating around for ages. I guess the phone number they used might be new too, considering lots of folks probably blocked the old one by now! Proper annoying.
