Got a call that sounded like a robotic voice, saying they were from BT and my internet would be cut off by the end of the day. They claimed I hadn’t paid my bill and could sort it out on the phone. Problem is, I don’t even have an account with BT! Pretty clear scam if you ask me.

Some guy with an Indian accent claimed he was collaborating with UK mobile companies to assist pay as you go users. I thanked him for calling and then just ended the call. Pretty obvious they’ve got hold of phone details from somewhere ("BT, probably") and it’s a total scam.

Someone saying they were from 02 called me, then started chatting about my pay-as-you-go plan, which I dont have because I'm on a contract. Then they asked when my contract ends, which is still ages away, over a year. If they were really 02, they would know this stuff already. I’ve had legit calls from them before where they confirmed it by mentioning these exact details.

This bloke rang me half a dozen times, and every time I picked up, he kept firing off questions before making some bizarre sounds over the line. Then a lady got on and started talking nonsense. I'm a woman, so it was proper odd. Honestly, I reckon I've been hexed or summat. But seriously, it’s so irritating - he won’t quit calling even after I’ve mucked about pretending to be all sorts of farm creatures on the phone loads of times. I don’t bother blocking the number though, I kinda get a kick out of it!

Got a call from this number earlier today, bloke said he was from O2, started chatting about my data allowance. Then he said he'd get a supervisor or manager but said the line was busy and that he'd call back. I overheard him shouting to someone before he hung up. Since then, I've had about seven calls and just kept rejecting them.

Some of the remarks here about vulnerable folks falling for the nonsense these idiots spout really hit home for me. I didn’t buy into the rubbish about owing money or any of their fake stories, but I’ll admit an unknown number called me and said some pretty rude and nasty stuff before hanging up, which totally messed up my day. I was fuming and honestly felt ashamed that some coward just dials numbers blindly and then acts all aggressive on the phone. Absolute pathetic w*****r!

Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent (her English wasn't great) claiming to be from Citizens Advice. She said I owed more than £5000 on credit cards, loans and catalogues and asked how I planned to pay it back. I told her she’d got the wrong person, then she just ended the call. Definitely sounds like a scam, so watch out!

Some bloke with a bit of an accent called me, asking for me by my first name and claimed he was from citizens advice. I told him straight he wasn’t from there and that he was trying to scam me, then he just ended the call.
