7 yearsToday, 11th February, I got a call from a bloke claiming I had almost £800 waiting to be paid to me. He asked me to ring a certain number to sort it out. I just ended the call straight away.7 yearsThis number rang me, but the moment I answered with a hello, they just cut off. When I tried calling them back, it said the number wasn’t in service anymore.7 yearsJust got a call like that about 5 minutes back. Some bloke was telling me my loan request had gone through, which is rubbish because I never applied for anything online. Then he tried to scare me by saying if I didn’t call his boss to stop it, I’d be hit with a £25 fee! The dodgy number he wanted me to ring was 09131241343. No way I’m calling that! Total scam, be careful everyone!7 yearsDecent loan group, I suppose. They told me our loan request went through, which I thought was about swapping cars (which I’m in the middle of). Then it came out they weren’t really sure how much the loan would be. He mentioned maybe £2000, which isn’t what we needed at all, so I called it out as a scam. He kept insisting it wasn’t, but then also said they'd slap a £25 cancellation fee on us if we backed out. I just told him to try his luck with that!7 yearsI got a call from this number saying it was the claims department and that I was owed £199 for some wrongful bank fees. They said they'd need to send me a verification code first before they could sort out the cheque. I told them if they've got all my info, just send the money, but they insisted they had to verify me first. I asked where they found my number and they said from some database. I told them it sounded like a cold call scam, and right after that, they just hung up. Pretty sure that’s a scam, no doubt about it...7 yearsGot a call from someone named Alex telling me I was owed £99 from the bank. I told him I’m not interested and just hung up straight away. Seems like a total scam to me.Alex7 yearsGot a call from this number a moment ago but they dropped the line right when I picked up. Having a look at earlier comments, I'm also ex-directory, so I'm totally clueless how they managed to get my landline digits linked to my mobile.7 yearsI got a phone call about a refund for bank fees supposedly for my husband. They asked me to call back on a number to sort out payment details and confirm our address. Something felt off straight away, especially since my husband passed away four years ago. Definitely sounded like a scam to me.7 yearsGot a call from a number I don’t recognise. Since I’m listed ex directory, I only expect mates or known people to ring on my landline.
