Got a call from someone claiming to be from Santander’s fraud dept saying they paused a payment of £231.90 to a Mrs Stacey Evans. They told me to check it out at safety-control-steps.com if I hadn’t authorised it. Sounds dodgy to me.

Got a message claiming to be from Santander about a payment being paused, with a link to click on. Thought I’d better double-check here first. Needless to say, I’ve just deleted it.

This number rang me up claiming to be from my life insurance provider. They did a fast check-up on my policy, asking about what cover I had and if I wanted to add anything else. I ended up updating my payment info since I’d been paying by credit card, and the person said switching to debit would save me money as there’s no extra fees. Overall, the call went quite well, though it was a bit frustrating to get it smack in the middle of the day - good thing I was on my lunch break!

Got a dodgy text claiming it was from the Santander fraud squad saying a payment was ‘flagged’. They wanted me to click on a link if it wasn’t me. Total scam, so don’t ever bother clicking on those links!
