2 yearsGot a text from this number, saying they were my son and that it’s his new mobile. But my boy is only 11, has severe autism, and right now he's in his P.E. class at school. Plus, and this is the funny bit, he doesn’t even have a phone! Honestly, what a dodgy scammer. I’ve blocked the number and reported it straight away.2 yearsGot a call from some scammer asking if my repair work was done properly. I asked them to clarify what they meant, and then they just hung up on me. They were trying to sound official but honestly, don’t waste your time. Just ignore and block them, they’re only trying to trick you.2 yearsGot a call from this number but couldn't really catch what the guy was on about. He mumbled something that sounded like he was faking an accent or summat. The background was super noisy too and the connection was awful. Ended up just hanging up and checked the reviews here before deciding to block him.2 yearsDon’t ignore this call unless you wanna take a risk!2 yearsThis number showed up on my missed calls earlier, so I tried calling back. A bloke with a strong northern accent picked up, but there was so much noise in the background I couldn't really make out anything. I decided not to say a word and just ended the call. My phone also flagged it as spam, so I’m pretty sure it’s not a legit call.2 yearsGot a call supposedly about my BT internet, but I don’t even have BT! The voice on the other end sounded super young, like a kid or something. Ended up just blocking the number.BT2 yearsGot a call from a number that seemed like one of these scams, they’re really persistent. I didn’t answer but definitely going to block it now.2 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be from 'the council' about a housing repair, sounded like he was from Liverpool or something. Didn’t know my full address though, and when I asked which council he was with, he was all over the place. Then when I tried to find out what repair they meant, he just laughed and cut me off. Definitely a dodgy scam.2 yearsI keep getting calls from someone saying they're about housing repairs. They ring me loads of times a day and always use different numbers. Definitely sounds like a scam to me.2 yearsGot a couple of missed calls, so I phoned back. A woman with a Liverpool accent answered on my work mobile, saying something about a claim I’d put in for property damage or something needing repair. I told her no, and mentioned she’d rung my work number by mistake - then she just hung up! Seems like they’re only after people they reckon they can con out of cash!Liverpool2 yearsGot a call from someone with a Liverpool accent about housing damage. They actually knew my name, but I’m not falling for it and said I knew they were scammers. Then they just hung up. These people should be blocked for good.2 yearsGot a call from a girl with a Scouse accent saying she was part of the housing repairs team. She insisted I’d made a claim about damage to my flat, which I told her I definitely hadn’t done. She kept arguing, saying ‘you did for sure’. Won’t bore you with all the details, but she had the nerve to confirm my postcode and then threatened she’d be coming round at 10pm. Proper shocking to get that from someone who sounded about 16. Total scam warning ⚠️Liverpool2 yearsI didn’t pick up, and since I’m registered with the TPS, I really shouldn’t be getting any sales calls. From what other people's reviews say, it sounds like that’s exactly what they’re after.Telephone Preference Service2 yearsTotally dodgy lot, claiming they can help you get a refund from HMRC for tax on PPI payments. I'd highly recommend double-checking with HMRC yourself before handing over any info. Stay safe!HMRC2 yearsGot a phone call from a lass speaking with a Liverpool twang, telling me I might be able to claim back some tax on a PPI payout.2 yearsGot a call saying I might qualify for a PPI tax refund or something. Then they asked for my National Insurance number and details from my payslip?? Seemed a bit dodgy to me.National Insurance2 yearsHeads up, this sounds like one of those dodgy call centres, probably a scam. Definitely watch out!3 yearsDefinitely a dodgy caller, sounded like a total scam.3 yearsBeware of Nationwide PPI Ltd, they're a total scam. I read loads of reviews on Trustpilot and it's clear they aren’t legit. Don’t let them handle someone else’s cheque, always double check with HMRC because these folks aren’t really authorised to act for you. They’re using your info without consent to try and claim back overpaid tax. Once HMRC realises they’re pretending to represent you, they might start taking any future tax refunds straight from you. Stay safe!Nationwide PPI LtdTrustpilotHMRC3 yearsI got a call from someone with a proper Scouse accent, sounding really pushy. She was telling me I was due a PPI refund and kept rushing to get her manager on the line to “confirm” they were genuine. When I asked if they had a website, she suddenly got all stroppy. Honestly, she had about as much warmth as Dot Cotton dealing with a nettle sting.Dot Cotton3 yearsSo, I got a call from someone named Theo who claimed to be from Government Gateway telling me I was owed a tax refund. He seemed to know quite a bit about me already, even my email address. He asked me to log into my email right then and there to deal with something, but I couldn’t do it then. He said he’d ring me again tomorrow!!!!Government Gateway3 yearsGot a call yesterday from a private number, with someone asking if I recalled a Gateway refund from 2019. I told them I didn’t, and then they just ended the call. Then today, the same number rang me again about some Gateway refund, but they didn’t even have my right name. I just cut the call and blocked the number after that.Gateway3 yearsGot a call from someone pretending to be National Gateway, said I could get a tax refund.
