The message was from a Dr Khan, who tantalisingly proposed a sum of £600,000 if I consented to a little procedure involving going under anaesthesia for some tummy examinations. I didn’t respond, naturally, which prompted him to send yet another message inquiring if I was agreeable to his offer.
