Bit hard to make out what they were saying - I asked if "Ai" was the name they were using, which I hadn’t heard before. They just said no and then cut the call. Felt like they were checking if my number was in use. Decided to block it.

I got a couple of calls from this number saying me and my husband were eligible for some Marriage Allowance. They even knew when we got married, like which year and all. But then they said they needed more details from me. Been waiting ages now, still nothing.

Hello there! Just to clarify, we’re definitely not a scam - we’re a legitimate business. Our aim is to assist individuals in reclaiming their marriage allowance from HMRC. We're completely independent and have no affiliation with them whatsoever. It's important to note that a staggering 20% of married couples haven’t yet submitted their claims; if they miss out, that money will be lost for good, as we can only recover payments for up to four years. Each couple is eligible to have that sum backdated to £250 annually over that period. We operate as a limited company and our fee structure is set at 35% plus VAT. The great news is that we work on a no win, no fee basis!

Wasn't in the best mood when they rang, and stupidly I ended up telling them my NI number. They kept calling nonstop, like 8 times straight, and just wouldn't accept that I wasn't interested. Really annoying!

Got calls from this number multiple times after I mentioned I might qualify for the married tax allowance. They seemed to have a lot of my info, like my NI number, birth date, and when I got married, but they kept asking for my tax code to fill in the paperwork. I never gave that info. I also looked it up on the official government site and it said I wouldn’t get any refund anyway. Just a heads up to be careful with this number!

I couldn’t believe it when he asked me for my National Insurance number! The number he called from was 07513692280. Totally dodgy if you ask me.

I received a call from this number on Tuesday, the 13th of February, 2024, and then again on the 14th. Concerned, I visited our bank, where they informed me that it was indeed a fraudulent attempt. Thankfully, everything on our end is fine. The only information we shared was our national insurance numbers, nothing more.

I received a call where the woman on the other end addressed me by my name. She mentioned something about a rebate. I interrupted her straight away, clarifying that I wasn’t expecting any rebates and suggested she might want to reach out to someone else. I then ended the call and subsequently blocked the number.

Today has been quite the ordeal! If my daughter hadn’t popped over, I surely would have fallen victim to a scam. So, I urge everyone to stay vigilant - don’t share any personal information! I just wanted to warn folks about this, as I’ve now blocked the number to prevent them from exploiting my details for financial gain. Stay safe, everyone!

My 80 year old husband ended up answering this call and told them our information, I’m not sure what to do next... these scammers are so cruel, I can’t understand how they sleep at night with what they do. Genuine evil.

I keep getting calls from this number every couple of hours, whether I answer or not. It's clear it's a scam, but it’s starting to feel like harassment now. Why isn’t there a way to put an end to this?

They’ve called me three times now about something to do with marriage tax allowance. They actually had my husband’s and my info which was a bit worrying. I told them I wasn’t eligible and mentioned it was the third call I’d had from them already. They were pretty pushy and kept asking for my tax code so I just ended the call. After looking up the number here, I’m pretty sure it’s a scam.

If someone calling from this number starts asking for your information, don’t give them anything. This isn’t HMRC calling, it's definitely a scam designed to steal your personal info. The best thing to do is just hang up immediately. I’ve got my own method for handling these sorts of calls, and trust me, it’s not a nice one!

Got a call from someone sayin they were “The Refund Team”. They said my name but I didn’t answer to it. The lady on the phone was called “Tim” or something. I told her I’m on the Telephone Preference Service and said it sounded like a scam. Then I just cut the call off. Yeah, like I’d fall for that!

Honestly, I have no clue how you even got hold of my number, it’s my private one and I usually don’t pick up for strangers. Just so you know, my son’s a cop and the other’s on duty at some estate from 6 in the evening till half past midnight. So please, just quit calling me and bothering my grandkids too, alright?

I got a call from a woman who knew both my name and my husband’s initials. She said it was regarding some marriage allowance application supposedly submitted by my husband. Thing is, we never applied for anything like that. She was super loud and kept dodging my questions, never really explaining why she was calling in the first place.

I keep getting calls from this number saying I’m apparently “entitled to a tax rebate because I’m married.” Thing is, I haven’t had a job in over a decade since I’m disabled. Quite puzzling really.

I recently received a rather concerning call regarding my marriage allowance and the potential refund. It struck me as quite peculiar, as they seemed to have both of our birthdates and our marriage date at their fingertips. They went on to inquire about the pensions we hold and the taxes we've been subjected to, and then they asked for my National Insurance number and tax code. It was at the moment they requested my tax code that a red flag went up, and I instinctively felt it was a dodgy operation. I promptly hung up, but they were quick to ring me back. To thwart any further interaction, I decided to turn my phone off altogether. Thankfully, they never probed for any banking details. I did, however, inadvertently share information about my pensions and provided them with my national insurance number-nothing more, thank goodness. One would think I should have grown wiser with age! The number that called was 07513692280.

My husband received a call on his mobile from a woman speaking with what seemed to be a Kiwi or South African accent. She wanted to chat about the marriage tax allowance and claimed we’re supposedly due £1250, suggesting we'd be liable for less tax in the next financial year. What worries me most is that she had a lot of our personal information, including our birth dates, marriage date, address, and postcode. Can anyone advise me on where I could report this?

I got a call from this number saying it was something about phone security, so I marked it as spam. When I tried calling it back, the phone told me the number doesn’t exist. After reading some comments, it seems like this could be a dodgy number, especially with all the talk about tax changes right now. Looks like it could be a scam trying to catch people out.

I received a rather peculiar call from a woman sporting a South African accent who rang using this number. To my astonishment, she had not only my details but also those of my husband-our birthdates, our address, and even the date we tied the knot! It struck me as remarkably odd, especially since the wedding date hardly ever comes up, apart from when I updated it just last week while sorting out my pension on the HMRC website. Feeling quite concerned, I've lodged a complaint with Action Fraud, suspecting that there might have been a breach on the HMRC site, allowing these scammers to harvest sensitive information.

This phone number rang me a couple times, claiming I’m due some kind of marriage tax refund. They kept getting my birthday wrong on every call and then asked me to confirm the right date. That’s when I told them I suspected it was a scam, and they just cut the call! Watch out and don’t fall for these cheats.

Got a ring from this number about some marriage tax allowance thing! What freaked me out was that the woman on the line actually had our names, date of birth and address. She said we could claim more than £1000. Said something strange about us living between Blackburn and South Africa. She gave her name as Rhana. I told her I’d contact HMRC directly to check it out.

This morning, I received a call from this number that seemed rather convincing. The caller insisted that we would be getting a form to sign, granting our consent, and afterwards a cheque would be sent our way. It struck me as quite absurd, and I found the whole conversation quite off-putting. I would advise others not to fall for such nonsense!

I just received a call from this number, purporting to be affiliated with HMRC, asserting that I could reclaim £1250 in unclaimed marriage allowance. They seemed to have an alarming amount of my personal information, and, rather foolishly, I ended up sharing my national insurance number with them. They were quite insistent about obtaining my wife's details as well, urging me to complete a form that needed her signature promptly. The whole conversation didn't last longer than ten minutes. Now, I'm beginning to suspect that this might be some sort of scam after all. Interestingly, while they didn't request any bank information, they had my address on file. The woman on the other end sounded either South African or Kiwi, and was exceptionally polite. However, I’ve come to the conclusion that this likely is a scam.

They called asking for our NI numbers and tax codes - mine and my wife's - saying we were eligible for a marriage allowance refund of £1,650. Honestly, it felt really dodgy. Just a heads-up, these people are definitely scammers, so watch out.

Regarding the matter of the marriage tax allowance, I’ve found myself in a rather perplexing situation. They insisted that there was another claim filed - but it certainly wasn’t from my end. The entire interaction felt quite legitimate at first, as everything they stated was accurate. However, further digging on my part suggests that their story lines up with the earlier mentioned issues. It’s beginning to look very much like a scam or fraudulent call.

This is seriously risky, steer well clear of these scams. It's crazy that in this day and age, we can chat with people on the moon, yet these creeps keep slipping through the cracks. They should be tracked down, prosecuted, have their stuff taken away, and definitely reported ASAP. So annoying!

Got a call from some bloke with terrible speech claiming to be from HMRC about a "Marriage allowance rebate." He seemed to know my name and my late wife's name too, but didn’t seem to have a clue she passed away almost two years ago. If he really was from HMRC, that should’ve rung some alarm bells right there. I just told him to do one! It baffles me why this dodgy number is still ringing people when there's so much known about it - why haven't the cops stepped in yet?

I knew straight away it was a scam when the person on the phone mentioned my husband’s name, even though he passed away back in 2022. We had already told all the proper authorities about his death then, so it was clear nonsense. They even threw in my name to try and convince me.

Something like this happened to me too. I got a call from a lady claiming to be with the Tax Refund Department, and she brought up HMRC as well. She knew my husband’s name and my dob, but it raised a red flag when she couldn’t provide either of our middle names, which I’m pretty sure HMRC would have. She also insisted that one of us had claimed a tax refund, which just wasn’t the case. I cut the call short. These scams are well thought out, though, since they clearly have some personal info to work with.

A woman called saying my husband supposedly submitted a marriage tax rebate a few months back and that we could get £1,500 back. She wanted me to verify our info. I asked her who she was with - some company called Tax Rebate Ltd? I was suspicious and told her I’d look them up. She even offered to give me their company number so I could check if they were legit. I said, firstly, if we were owed anything it would be the Inland Revenue contacting us directly. Secondly, my husband has dementia, so there’s no way he’d have filled out any forms.
