I got a call from a person claiming to be with HMRC, calling from a mobile. When I asked to call back, they gave me the number 01618502025. Turns out both numbers are known scams. The woman said I’d successfully applied for a marriage benefit and that I’d get a cheque for £1,200 from HMRC within 6 to 8 weeks. Honestly, such cruel scammers. They really ought to be prosecuted and the people behind those call centres should lose their jobs.

Got a text saying EVRi tried to deliver a parcel but no one answered. Bit odd as I was out in the garden the whole time and there were even two cars parked outside. If they really came by, they’d have seen me for sure. The contact link ended with .in which makes me think it’s coming from India, so probably a scam.

PPI fraudsters kept ringing me sayin I've got some PPI refund left, then they said there's another £500 waiting. I told them I ain't bothered and blocked the number, but they still manage to call me, I can see it in my call history. They called 7 times this week alone even though I blocked them. Got pretty hostile when I said I wasn't interested in the cash.

Got a call from someone saying they've got PPI tax refund payouts going. They wouldn’t tell me the company name tho. Asked when I got the payout and the sum, but I couldn’t recall. They kept pushing me to say July 2019. I reckon it was about £1,700 but not sure. They went quiet when I mentioned I make over £51k. Seemed dodgy to me.

There's this marriage tax refund firm that calls me non stop. They ring and text me every day. I've told them loads of times to take my number off their list and stop contacting me, but they just keep going with the same script and try to get me to answer their questions, which I don’t. Today I told them I was going to report them for harassment, but they just said it’s not harassment. I got annoyed and swore at them before hanging up. Now I'm waiting for them to ring again.

The call seemed to be related to some kind of tax issue, at least that’s what I caught before they said if they needed to reach me again, they’d call back. It made me wonder why they’d hang up if it was truly an important tax matter. My gut tells me it’s not just annoying but could be risky to phone the number back, as some of these lines can charge you loads even if you’re on for a moment. Better not to ring back and if you’re really worried, inform the police and let them handle it with a trace. We need to stop these nasty scam calls for good.

This number 07512426572 rang me yesterday, 31/01/2023 at around 3.26 pm. I tried to check it out and found Help your tax online at Freckleton Business centre on Freckleton Street, Blackburn BB2 2AL, phone 0161 850 1068 and the email looks like [email protected]. The website is pretty dodgy and just keeps you waiting on the line for ages; I called twice and both times it was just endless hold music with a promise an agent would come on soon. These sorts of scams are getting more convincing all the time.

This number 07512426572 called me today, 31/01/2023 at 3.26pm, and they had also phoned on 27/01/2023 around 8.33am. The lady on the line said I needed to claim £1500 for my tax. I told her it was definitely a scam. She spoke with an Asian accent and insisted that if it was a scam, they would be asking for bank info, and said they assist with PPI claims. I told her to jog on and ended the call.

Today, Friday 27th January 2023, at about 8.33 in the morning, I got a call from the number 07512426572. The caller said he was with Help Your Tax but had a bit of an odd English accent. He claimed he could help me get a tax refund for my wife. Shortly after, I received some texts from the number 447479638073 at 08.37, telling me I needed to connect to the internet. He mentioned he would ring me again later.

Here’s how you can use the system set up by the police (NFIB) to easily report ALL scam phone calls, texts, emails, and other fraud attempts. I was advised to do this after raising concerns with my MP about the sheer number of scam calls I received. Scammers quite frankly don’t want this info to get out there. If you don’t report these scams, don’t expect much to be done about them. Sending reports to 7726, your phone company, Ofcom, or any company being spoofed by scammers can help somewhat, but those details usually won’t be shared with the police for a proper criminal probe.
