I told the credit investigation folks to cease their calls, but they kept ringing. I warned them if they didn’t stop, I’d report to the police. Instead of stopping, they swore at me a couple of times and then just laughed. I ended up hanging up and blocked the number straight away.

First, the caller claimed to be from Citizens Advice, then switched to saying he was with the "Debt Advice Foundation." When I told him I hadn’t requested any call, he insisted the government had sent him to help with my debts. I told him I thought it was a scam, and he just ended the call. Trying to ring the number back, I got a message saying it wasn't possible to connect.
