I received a curious text earlier reading: "FREEMSG: Our records suggest you could claim £3750 for the accident you were involved in. To initiate your claim at no cost, simply respond with YES. To unsubscribe, text STOP!" Honestly, despite having been in a minor accident, I strongly suspect this is nothing but a scam! Any advice on dealing with this would be greatly valued!

Absolutely, this was nothing short of a scam. It's baffling how these individuals presume to know if you've had an accident. There is a lack of any concrete information. The clincher here was the whole "TXT" nonsense - if you message them to stop, they'll just charge your mobile account an exorbitant fee for the privilege of denying you their spammy texts. Ridiculous, really!

It's blatantly obvious that it's a scam. Seriously, how do these individuals even know you've had an accident? There’s absolutely no information provided. The real giveaway is the instruction to "TXT ‘STOP’" if you want to opt out of the barrage of follow-up rubbish they’ll send your way, which inevitably rakes up an eye-watering bill on your mobile.
