The government and mobile providers ought to be doing far more to cut out these con artists and take legal action against them. It feels like a complete waste of breath. The police should be shutting these operations down as soon as they’re flagged up. But as long as telecom companies are raking in the profits, it seems they couldn't care less. As I’ve noted before, this dodgy link requests sensitive information like my bank account sort code, account number, and the three-digit security code. Naturally, I refrained from disclosing any personal details!
