Someone calling from Curry’s about Christmas deals claimed to be legit but when I asked if they were a scam, they said yes, told me they loved me, then just hung up. Strange!

I received a robotic call telling me my Amazon Prime membership would be renewed for £39.99 and to cancel I needed to talk to a manager. I hit 1 and ended up speaking to a guy with an Asian accent. When I said I wanted to cancel my Prime, he just hesitated with a long “uhhhhh” and then hung up on me. I've since blocked the number.

Got a call from an Asian guy saying he was with British Gas. He had my name and address and asked me to verify how I pay my bills. He said he already had the info but still wanted me to confirm. I ended the call since he already had most of my info, but if he was legit, he should have known that the surname on the account changed years ago when I got married. Blocked the number now.

I got calls from this number twice today, once at 11:36am and again at 1:50pm. I picked up but stayed silent, then they just ended the call. When I tried ringing back from my office phone, it rang about three times before disconnecting.

Got a call from a lady speaking with a South African accent, she knew my full name and address. Said she had some message from British Gas but first asked if I lived at the address and who my energy supplier was. I didn’t want to give that info, so she just ended the call.

Missed the first call since I was still in bed after gaming all night on my PS4. The second one actually woke me, but I ignored it because I didn’t know the number. I picked up and nobody was speaking, then I heard some clicking noises like they were getting ready to say something, so I just ended the call. I’d never ring someone back if I don’t recognise their number. Heard that scammers sometimes call loads of people at the same time and chat with whoever picks up first. Number’s blocked now.
