Wasn't sure if it was legit or some kind of scam, so I rang the dentist to check. Turns out it really was from Shelton Dental Centre in Stoke-on-Trent. So yeah, my hygiene appointment’s been cancelled now.

I just got two texts at once from different numbers, one claiming to be DentistSQPD and the other from this number, both saying the same thing about an appointment. The messages were basically like, "Don't forget your dental appointment on Wednesday, 17 July 2024 at 9:20AM. If you haven't done so yet, please fill out the forms..." I never booked any appointment, and the texts weren’t from any official NHS-NoReply address, so pretty clear this is a scam. Feels like the people defending this number might actually be the ones behind the scam. Cheers.

Looks like it’s someone called Dr Hughes from a dental clinic in Poole, Dorset, which is miles away from my own dentist, about 200 miles or so. Maybe they’ve got my number mixed up!

This number texted me twice almost at once. One message was right, the other was for a completely different day. I usually get messages about mine and my kids' appointments. I'm pretty sure it's not a scam but it’s definately not reliable. Best to call your dentist and double check. Also, I'd avoid replying with "1" since it doesnt seem very professional.

Had a survey call from mydentist in Ely, Cambridgeshire. I replied with ‘stop’ like the TPS and PSA recommended, but it just ignored it. Apparently, you need to ring your dental surgery directly if you want the calls to stop.

Since that area code's from my home town, I called back cos I hadn’t made any appointment. Ended up on an automated message saying I was 2nd in line for a receptionist.
