I got a message on my mum’s phone from this number saying it was me, and that I’d broken my phone so was using a mate’s to send texts. The text asked her to get in touch on "Whatsapp" so “I” could save her number. But honestly, it didn’t make much sense - why would I need to save her number if I was already able to text her? Felt like a dodgy scam to me. Luckily, my mum double-checked with me and my dad before doing anything, so it all turned out alright.
