There's an apparent scam claiming we’re due a compensation of £1750 due to some mishap we experienced, and we've been asked to respond. Absolutely not going to happen!

Received the exact same message and, to be honest, we seldom pay attention to nonsense like that, though I can understand why others might. It’s been mentioned that these folks can dispatch messages to anyone they fancy. The initial digits of the phone number reveal the network, and from there, it’s a bit of a gamble. Not to mention, it’s rather appalling how the mobile providers are behaving, carelessly exposing our information. Now my numbers are out there for anyone to see! Lately, it feels like things in England are going downhill pretty rapidly.

Just received a dodgy text saying: "FREEMSG: Our records indicate you’re owed £1,750 in compensation regarding your accident. To claim it, simply text back, or respond 'STOP' to opt out." We’re a bit puzzled as we’ve never been in an accident! How on earth did they manage to get hold of our number? Quite the mystery, isn’t it?

I received a rather dubious text that read: "FREEMSG: Our records indicate you're entitled to £1,750 in compensation for an accident you've supposedly had. To make a claim, simply reply CLAIM to this message. If you wish to opt-out, text STOP." I didn’t bother replying, as there’s been no accident on my end! It’s puzzling how they even got hold of my number in the first place!
