4 yearsThis situation harkens back to a rather dodgy incident from 2021, where a rather pushy woman bombarded several cake shops with calls to the extent that the local authorities had to step in for a welfare check! The whole thing felt a bit off from the get-go, especially since he evaded straightforward questions about the order and decided to send messages at silly o'clock! It’s baffling what motive these individuals have behind their antics, but there it is-human behaviour can be quite perplexing!4 yearsSomeone asked me to take cupcakes all the way to Boston, which is over an hour from me, so obviously I said no. They kept pushing though and wouldn’t take no for an answer. It reminded me of a scam the police flagged back in 2021, targeting cake shops. Seems like they try to get you to deliver so they can rob you on the way. I told them there’s a national Cake Makers Association here in the UK (totally made up) handling the case and that the police have been informed. Hopefully, if they think everyone’s onto them now, they’ll give it a miss.BostonNational Guild of Cake Makers4 yearsGot a call, no one said anything just weird heavy breathing, then called right back about 5 mins later. The third time they rang I didn’t even answer, just blocked the number straight away. Proper strange behaviour.4 yearsSomeone kept ringing me and texting from a blocked number, trying to get me to sell them some food stuff. They wouldn’t give up at all, really annoying!4 yearsGot a call earlier, picked up and the line just went dead. Right after, I got a weird text saying "Hi do you have anything for birthday gifts like designs or presents please". Felt dodgy so I looked up the number straight away, then about half a minute later they called again. I just ignored and blocked the number, looked like a total scam to me.4 yearsI got a call where they just said “hello” then cut off straight away. I called back but no answer. After that, they texted saying they’d been let down and needed some hampers (which I do put together). They wouldn’t say exactly what hampers though. Asked about prices but I couldn’t give a straight answer as it depends. They wanted to know where to pick them up from and were pretty pushy. I didn’t give my address because something seemed wrong. When I asked their name and what hampers they wanted, they just vanished on me lol.HampersHamper4 yearsGot a missed call then some texts from someone, no idea who they were or what they wanted. They asked if I did personalised christening cards, which I actually do, but wouldn’t say their name when I asked. When I tried to see if they had Facebook messenger, they said no. I also asked where they’d found my number but got no reply. Ended up blocking the number.Facebook4 yearsGot a missed call followed by some texts from a number I didn't recognise. When I asked which product, they dodged the question and kept pushing for me to meet them halfway. They mentioned living in Lincolnshire but refused to give a specific town, so they could be a long way off. They seemed fixated on asking for the delivery and constantly inquiring about the price. It’s left me feeling quite exasperated; I suspect they might be scammers.5 yearsThey keep ringing me up and sending loads of messages about the stuff I sell, but then refuse to buy through our online shop. Instead, they want to meet halfway to drop off the goods. We’ve told them we don’t do personal deliveries, just post things out with Royal Mail, and maybe some local companies could assist with that.Royal MailSubmit Your Own Report (07502 303971)
