They had the audacity to claim that my National Insurance number was linked to drug dealings, which is absolute nonsense. They were insisting that I cooperate, or else I'd supposedly be getting a visit from the coppers. Well, I simply told them to go ahead and ring the police, and if - by some slim chance - they actually showed up, I'd gladly make them a cuppa and sort it all out, no bother at all. The bloke on the line sounded like he was from either India or Pakistan, but his English was passable. I could hear the typical hum of a scam call centre buzzing away in the background. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now. Let’s see if the police actually come knocking on my door - would be quite amusing, wouldn't it?
