Sounds like the supposed con artist above slipped up and is actually teamed up with some bloke called Steve. The message I saw was "Steve, mate, you up? I'm stuck out here, can you buzz me in please?"

Got a text out of the blue claiming to be from HMRC about a rebate dated 25/2/21. It seemed fishy since HMRC wouldn’t be texting from a mobile number, especially after I just spoke to the tax office yesterday. Definitely something dodgy going on there.
